If you asked me what I would consider my beauty priorities, I would say: skincare, skincare, skincare! The beauty look I love the most is sculpted, moisturized, clean, glowing skin. However, sometimes this girl craves a smoky eye and red lip for a touch of drama every now and again.
I found out about Maybelline’s eyeshadow palettes from a beauty interview I did a few months ago with the lovely Ashley White. She spoke so highly of Maybelline’s The Blushed Nudes palette, but sadly for me the shades were a little too light for my skin tone. I thought that was the only 12-pan palette Maybelline had, but I quickly saw the Rock Nudes palette right beside it and got giddy with excitement! This eyeshadow palette is so versatile for all skin tones and very reasonably priced. I blended a mix of the two dark purple shades and black to create a subtle smoky eye that can easily be transitioned from daytime by pairing it with a neutral lip, to nighttime by pairing it with a bold lip.
I decided to really go for it and add a red lip. One of my all time favourite reds is the Sephora Cream Lip Stain 01 in Always Red. I remember going into Sephora last year with a very specific picture of Kendall Jenner in which she was on the red carpet wearing a stunning red dress with lips to match, and asking for the closest thing they had to it. I tried several different shades and brands, but this Sephora Collection Cream Stain was the winner. The pigmentation and vibrancy of this red is second to none. Also, it lasts, and lasts and lasts! To get a little bit more definition on my lips, I lightly lined them with Elizabeth Arden’s Precision Glide Lip Liner in 07 Hazelnut.
I love how it required minimal effort and minimal product to create this look. It’s definitely one of my favourites.
