PRODUCT REVIEW: Spruse Essentials 100% Natural & Pure Essential Oils

If you follow along with the GRR on Instagram, you have probably noticed my recent infatuation with all things essential oils. Whether it be diffusing frankincense for a 5 minute meditation to bring my anxiety levels down, some peppermint and eucalyptus to help clear my sinuses when I have a cold, or a few drops of lavender before I fall asleep to assist my mind and body in entering a more relaxed state, the use of essential oils have become a staple in my daily routine.

When it comes to picking out the oils I choose to diffuse, I have the following criteria:

1. The oils must be 100% pure and natural
2. I must be drawn to the scent
3. They shouldn’t cost a billion dollars

It initially took me a while to jump onto the essential oil bandwagon. When I first started researching it, I was a little off-put by some of the prices. It appeared you had to pay a lot more money to get a top quality product in the essential oil market. Of course I am happy to pay appropriately for a high-quality product (within reason of course), or to spend a little more money on all-natural essential blends (mixtures of various different oils) that I can’t recreate at home, however, I think certain basic essential oils should be able to be purchased at a reasonable and non-inflated price point.

Needless to say, when Spruse Essentials, a proudly Canadian, cruelty-free, and 100% natural essential oil’s company contacted me to try out their Essential Oils Basic Set, I was super excited. I love supporting family-run small businesses so I had high hopes for their products – and they did not disappoint!

This set is perfect for either an essential oils enthusiast or someone totally new to the game. The set comes an instructional insert along with six essential oils in 10mL bottles with the following scents: mandarin, rosemary, eucalyptus, lavender, peppermint, and rosemary. Shortly after opening a bottle, the quality of Spruse’s product is evident and your nose is almost immediately hit with the oil’s distinct aroma. As a bonus, it comes in a beautiful gift box that is great for storage and makes for a very cute gift. The best part? These oils are SO AFFORDABLE!

How affordable? Well, the regular price for the starter set of 6 oils is $40, plus free shipping to anywhere in Canada. Currently, however, Spruse has a promotion on where you can purchase the set for $25.99. I have purchased a single 10mL bottle of an essential oil for $25, so to get some of my favourite scents plus a few extra is an unbelievable deal in my opinion.

If you’re like me, you are probably wondering how Spruse could afford to sell their product at such a reasonable price point and not compromise quality? They do so by concentrating sales only online, which cuts any retail and in-store costs, which in turn allows them to pass those savings onto their customers.

It gets better.

From now until June 14th, 2017 Canadian GRR readers can receive an additional 10% off their online orders by using the promo code “GETREADY” at checkout! These oils can be purchased directly from their website or on Amazon and the code will work for both.

If you’d like a chance to win the free starter set from Spruse Essentials, head over to the GRR Instagram to find more details and how to enter the contest.

My experiences with these oils to date have been excellent. I have had the pleasure of using them for the past 2 months, and I can honestly say I reach for them almost daily. While all their scents are lovely, lavender, peppermint, & eucalyptus are my favourites and I will happily re-order this entire set to simply replenish those three oils once I run out.

Anyone interested in essential oils should definitely check this company out.

Happy diffusing!
